AΔK District 1 Meeting brought together our past, our present and our future...

and it truly was special.

So proud to meet one of our founding sisters!

Kathy Law was the creator of this beautiful wreath donated to the fundraiser for the District 1 Scholarship Fund. Thank you Kathy!

Carolyn Twaddle of Mt. Dora, FL is currently the AΔK state president. Everyone enjoyed her visit and her gift of "gems."

OUR PAST was represented by a unique visit from Ruth Brokaw who currently resides in Marianna, FL. Ruth is a founding member of our Alpha Sigma chapter! She taught Physical Education at both Cobb and Raa Middle Schools. Our own sister, Kay Menendez, was one of Ruth's students at Cobb!! Ruth and Kay fondly reminisced about dances that were taught in Ruth's PE classes. Kay still remembers how to do those dances today! Ruth remains good friends with Susan Raker, member of Tallahassee's Epsilon chapter, and was delighted to get a chance to visit with her during the meeting.

OUR PRESENT was represented by the 15 Alpha Sigma members who attended the District 1 meeting on Saturday, February 13, 2016. We enjoyed the fellowship, fundraising raffle, fine food and lovley door prizes! The Yip Yip did a grand job reminding us of why and how we became members in AΔK.

Ruth Brokaw reminisces with members of Alpha Sigma - Mary, Camille and Diane.

A surprise visit from a Yip Yip perked everyone up and sent laughter around the room!

Dottie, Peggy, Barbara and Cheryl getting ready for the meeting to begin. Note the "Up, Up & Away" balloon boxes on the table that we worked on in January!

Our wonderful officers of District 1.

OUR FUTURE is right around the corner: Jan reminded all to "Save the Date" for March 4, 2017 when our chapter, along with Epsilon, will host the District 1 meeting in grand style in Tallahassee! We look forward to joining our sisters across the Panhandle for another festive gathering to celebrate Alpha Delta Kappa and our accomplishments.
